“I Can Trust the Waves For I Know the One Who Made the Ocean”

The other day I was commenting to Melanie that there is so much change happening in the lives of those around me! I remembered something I had written just over 3 years ago, when we first moved to northern Ontario. I’d love to share it with you ladies…”Yesterday I was able to drive to the waterfront in my hometown with my son – the lake used to be a short walk away from our house when I was growing up. I used to fall asleep to the sound of the waves crashing during a storm, and some of my best tobogganing memories and stone-skipping lessons happened there. As I walked with my son, down the same path I walked as a child, and stood near the edge of the cliff (and held on tight to my son!), and watched the waves crashing, just as I did when I was a child, I realized there will always be things in life that will never change. I felt God drawing near as He spoke to my heart and showed me, once again, His unchanging nature, His steadfast love, His sturdy, stable will for each of our lives. So many waves, so many changes in us, in our lives, but He is so much bigger, and His love is so vast! Many times I have visited that waterfront, and listened for God’s voice, and He has never failed to meet me there. What a treasure to be able to share that with my son.” I wanted to share this memory, wanted to encourage you with this reminder: some-things-don’t-change. How wonderful to know this truth!
